TAMILLA WOODARD (USA) is a director, adaptor and actor. Recent directing credits include the collaboration with Mexican playwright Alfonso Carcamo directing his new play Decomposition at The Lark. Also, critically acclaimed vocal musical EXPATRIATE by Lenelle Moise at the Culture Project (NYC) and CRUISING THE DIVIDE (KY) at the Actors Theatre of Louisville. Tamilla has developed and directed many solo shows including Micia Moselys Where My Girls At? (numerous festivals and universities) Sherry Boone’s Super Star Artist Show (Zipper Theatre and The Metropolitan Room, NYC); Queen GodIs’ Birth of Power U (Triad Theatre and Hip Hop Theatre Festival, NYC) and Carlos Andrés Gómez’s MAN UP (Solo Nova @ PS 122, The One Festival and Edinburgh Fringe, UK) as well as Break the Mirror…Break the Mic for Urban Word at Dance Theatre Workshop (NYC) and Hip Hop Theatre Festival, NYC. Her work has been awarded Best of Fringe and cited as "Top 20 shows to see". Tamilla is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama, former artistic director of the Yale Cabaret, member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, Women’s Project leadership council and on the Board of Directors for TerraNOVA Collective. She is co-founder of LAUNCH, a development company for phenomenal solo artists and an adjunct professor at City College’s Center for Worker Education.
