Alfonso Cárcamo

Alfonso Cárcamo (Mexico City, 1974) Actor, playwright, and director. Graduated with an acting degree from the prestigious UNAM Theatre School (CUT). As an actor he has worked with various film and theatre directors, such as José Ramón Enríquez, Sergio Galindo, Mónica Raya, Ariel Gordon, Ernesto Contreras, Luis Ayhllón, Carlos Cuarón and Sergio Arau. His work as a playwright led him to receive the fellowship for youg creators in 2004 awarded by the National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA). His plays have been showcased in the most renowned Mexican festivals. Since 2006 he has experimented, both as a writer and director, with the idea that his plays should be performed in unconventional spaces. Therefore, he is the creator and artistic director of Salas de Urgencia, whose mission is to create plays that can be performed in any venue, be it a living room, a basketball court, school or theatre, this project has been subsidized by the Mexico City Cultural Secretary. He is also well known for his TV and film writing. Founding member of Seres Comunes Performing Colective.
Alfonso Cárcamo (México, 1974) Actor, escritor y director. Egresado de la carrera de actuación del Centro Universitario de Teatro de la UNAM. Como actor ha trabajado en cine y en teatro con importantes directores entre los que destacan José Ramón Enríquez, Mónica Raya, Ariel Gordon, Ernesto Contreras, Carlos Cuarón, Luis Ayhllón y Sergio Arau. Su labor como dramaturgo lo lleva a obtener en 2004 la beca a jóvenes creadores que otorga el FONCA. Sus obras han sido representadas en los festivales más importantes de México. Desde 2006 se ha dedicado a investigar sobre las posibilidades de puesta en escena en espacios no convencionales. Es creador y director del proyecto de intervención a espacios habitacionales denominado Salas de Urgencia que es apoyado por la Secretaría de Cultura del Distrito Federal. También se ha desempeñado como escritor de TV y cine. Es miembro fundador del Colectivo Escénico Seres Comunes.
