Doug graduated with honors from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, where he was named an Andrew Carnegie Merit Scholar. He has trained with Peruvian master teacher Victoria Santa Cruz, the Moscow Art Theatre (MXAT), Saratoga International Theatre Institute (SITI) and Yoshi Oida from Peter Brook's International Centre for Theatre Research. Doug is a member of Actor’s Equity (US), The Fence Playwrights Network (UK), the International Performing Arts Network (France) and the Lincoln Center Directors Lab (2007). Doug was the Artistic Director of THALATTA! Theatre International (2001-2007) and the recipient of a Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX) Space Grant for 2007-08. For The Internationalists, Doug has directed a reading of Caridad Svich's translation of Julio Cortázar's The Kings (Argentina) and a workshop performance of The Seven Deadly Sins: Lust.
